Holidays are the best. The only thing that will make them better is when my children sleep in someday, or no longer require me in the wee hours of the holiday. This weekend we played at the park, went swimming, went on a picnic, and even ordered pizza and bread sticks to save me from laboring on labor day. Tate thinks bread sticks are called steamrollers. Makes sense right? I think forever more I will be eating steamrollers because when he says it so adorably I can't correct him.
He really is a monkey now. It's occasionally terrifying but super exciting to see all that he can do compared to Ian, where he was not too long ago.
Tate caught Daddy as he inched down the slide. "Don't worry daddy."
Monkey bars used to be a lot easier. My body definitely has a little more weight and height to it now than in my previous park exploring days. But the point of the picture is that I still can.
Swinging with Daddy is so relaxing. Sometimes I wish I had a giant to relax into and fall asleep on, but that would be weird...
Ian was testing out Tate's car seat. I brought it inside to clean out the last 8+ months of being Loved by Tate strapped in one place eating things, sweating, and doing all other 2 year old shenanigans. Tate decided he wanted to sit on Ian's lap. I think instead of a couch I should just get two more of these and buckle in my kiddos when they watch shows. I would just have to bolt them to the floor and I could leave them there for naps too... I may be onto something...
On Saturday there was pool party for Josh's institute. Tate loved playing in the water and stumbling around in his fins.
He had to put his chair next to the table, but for some reason he couldn't reach any of the food.
This boy loves his stuffed animals! He also loves stuffing them in his shirt so there is a baby in his belly... I feel like we'll be working on this one for a while.
Fruit snacks; a 2-year old mother's best friend. They are my secret weapon, my incentive, and my last resort. They are becoming just as fun for him to play with as they are delicious to eat.
My little baller can already slam dunk! He plays with the hoop and balls for minutes on end. I am excited to see what sports this one ends up loving.
I decided Ian needed a chance to feed himself. So with 2 bites left in the bowl and one on the spoon he gave it a go. I gave Tate more freedom so much sooner because there was only him to clean up after. My poor next child... Note the bowl is facing me and the spoon is upside down... He enjoyed it for a minutes and then cleared his tray off by sending everything to the floor. Such a helpful child.
Tate stole Daddy's hat. The new best game ever! I can't believe my baby is so big!
